When it comes to eating, people are usually in two different minds. Some prefer eating at a restaurant while others would rather prepare and eat their meal at home. Both choices have their own advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, not having to cook is an obvious advantage of restaurants over home meals. Secondly, restaurants usually provide a wider range of choice compared to the amount of dishes an average person can prepare. Such wider menu may bring people to try out different kinds of taste which they would not be able to try otherwise.

Moreover, you don’t need to do the wash-up after you are done eating when dining at restaurants. Nevertheless, such advantages come at a cost. Eating at restaurants too often would result too expensive and, as such, is not a viable option for many people.

On the contrary, cooking your own meal at home is cheaper. It is of course more time and effort requiring since you need to buy and cook the ingredients on your own and to clean afterwards, but there are some advantages to it. For instance, home cooking allows a person to suit his own taste and is a way of improving his cooking skills. Furthermore, you can cook as much food as you see fit.

Personally, I enjoy cooking at home, especially when I’m cooking for someone else other than me. In addition to this, I think many restaurants’ food portions are not enough for a hungry, healthy person. Because of this, even though there may be some occasion where a restaurant meal could be preferable, I would rather prepare and eat my own meal at home.
