There is no doubt that prevention should get the first priority always. If anything can be prevented by taking certain steps, it is advisable to pay more attention towards the preventive measures. As health budget is decisive for knocking out the issues related to health, it should incorporate a huge amount of its share on health education and preventive measures. Indeed, the amount of finance spent on preventive measure and health budget reduces the burden from treating those health hazards.

First of all, health education helps in preventing lots of health disasters. Health education in Africa for reducing AIDS is an example as a prevention measure. In addition to that, health campaigns such as vaccinations reduce the patient counts. Polio drops campaign is the major factor which reduced the number of polio patients in developing countries. Hence, government should always promote these kind of prevention activities which ensures the positive results in short term as well as in long term.

However, the budget for treating the patients cannot be neglected as the victims always require the appropriate treatment. As some of the preventive measures may not work fruitfully the treatment budget should always be allocated in high amount to ensure that the health system is not affected. For example, in India the health facilities are poor in most part of the country and thus, the government should spend their budget in this arena so that people can get the required treatment in time.

Though health treatment budget is an essential part of the health budget, i feel that preventive measures should be given more focus as they can dramatically change the health condition of the country.
