A government's role only to provide defense capability and urban infrastructure, such as roads, water and power. All other services, such as education, health and social security, should be provided by private groups or individuals in the community. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

A government's main responsibility only to serve in the defense and urban infrastructure rather than serving in education, health and social security, leaving the role to the private or individual organization would affect a nation greatly in terms of sustainability and feasibility of services. Therefore,I strongly disagree with the idea of handed over those responsibilities to any private group or individual in the community.

Firstly, if private groups or individual in a locality are supposed to education, health and social security services, there will be many groups working for these services, which would make those services more confusing leading people skeptical about services. Furthermore, when any private groups handle something, the funds might fluctuate over time which would affect the sustainability of the program. Moreover, feasibility of programs also remains questionable if managed by individual. For example, if a private company or an individual starts providing services and at a certain period there is some collision or funding problem within the group members, they just cannot stop providing services, but maintaining those would be problematic as well.

On the other hand, government is not a group own by privately or individually, thus it has the accountability of every activities to the people. People pay taxes for getting all the fundamental rights from a governing body which does not have any thing to do with private ownership or possessions.

Another important point is the affordability of the people to access to privately own education, health or security services. Private companies or other individual companies would not think about the pay-ability of the general people which in turn would be quite harmful for them to be well protected, educated and healthy.

To conclude, government and only the government can uphold the public benefit without making them doubtful about the sustainability of the important services such as education, health and security services. Thus, government should be the only controlling body of every services, though if government wants, can provide services through private organization but control should be on government's side.
