Modern means of transportation has provided humans by easier ways of migration. Some go abroad to work or live and other leave their homeland to study in a foreign country. However, immigration for any purpose may create both positive and negative consequences which I will attempt to illustrate in this essay.

Normally, open-mindedness could be a result of leaving one’s country, since immigrants face new societies and cultures and get acquainted with their unique characteristics. For example those who come to my own country, Iran, mention hospitality as the main social trait. Furthermore, host countries may benefit from new talents among the people who come to live permanently or study in their domiciles. A good example of this is the U.S. in which many experts with different nationalities reside.

In contrast, social conflict between natives and non-natives has increasingly been reported by journalist since two or three decades ago. For instance, Greece has been due to such struggles for at least twenty years. In addition newcomers might not be allowed to get the jobs they deserve in their new homeland. This especially takes place in the time of hardship when a nation is trapped in crisis. Also, such inequality and in justice may be rooted from racist movements.

To conclude, although leaving your country for a better education or to live a better life could have good results like broad-mindedness of the immigrants who may be welcomed by the natives and be employed based on their merits, still differences of opinions can cause hostility. Such an animosity will probably ruin the relationship between the guests and the landlords.
