Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Before two to three decades, kinds of subjects to be taught in universities were limited. However, nowadays the quality and numbers of subjects have increased significantly. Although not all subjects fit both males and females, it is argued that universities should permit equal numbers of candidates from both genders to submit in every subject. This will be proven by looking at the unexpected excellence of some students in unexpected subjects and the freedom they should have to decide which subject they prefer to study.
Firstly, throughout the world, some individuals show excellence in some fields that were uncommon for their gender to be distinguished in. For example, in the United Arab of Emirates, particularly in the construction media, it was impossible to see female site engineer before twenty years. However, today the best intelligent and hard-working site engineers are ladies. This example shows that if universities did not allow females to specify in this subject, those excellent engineers would not exist. Thus, it is believed that universities should permit equal numbers of male and female to study all sorts of subjects.
Secondly, university students are mature and free enough to decide which field they prefer to study, and universities should respect this freedom. This practice will allow candidates to find out subjects they are really strong in and subjects they are weak in. This means that, even though universities are sure that some subjects are not fitting candidates in either gender, they should leave them free-handed to choose. Thus students will be 100% convinced weather subjects they have chosen suitable or not to them.
After analyzing these two points of view that hold true the idea of accepting equal numbers of students from both genders, it is clear why this theory has garnered a lot of support. It is recommended that universities should give more and more freedom to students.
