Academic systems in several countries have as a main character testing and evaluating students.

Especially teachers consider this method as one of the best way to examine learners and to see to which extent does the student understand the course taught. But is that true? Can we really qualify this option as the most efficient one to evaluate a student? This is what we are going to discuss about in this essay.

In my opinion,I believe that testing and challenging a person who learns a given course is a key to his success, because learning in class is not enough. Therefore, through tests students must be able to express themselves correctly, give their opinions on a given topic and also be able to support their ideas.

More so,nowadays, teachers use a specific practice of examining and evaluating in order to meet their target. They give to students homeworks on a daily basis to be able to evaluate their level of understanding on the chapter learnt the same day. This helps children not to forget what they have learnt and also increases the performance of teachers.

Despite of all the advantages related to the practice of testing and examining students, parents do not agree on this emphasis. They affirm that children should learn and practice more at school and have sometime for themselves to rest and do other activities.I do agree on this statement to some extent, it is true that students need to relax a little after school, however,if we analyze the world's evolution we clearly see that times have changed.I believe that training young people to always have assessments is a very good way of ameliorating their way of reasoning.

As a conclusion, I believe that the benefits related to the various methods of testing and evaluating students are many compared to the disadvantages.
