Ocean water evaporates, falls as rain, and eventually runs back into the oceans again.

Beginning at the evaporation stage, we can see that 80% of water vapour in the air comes from the oceans. Heat from the sun causes water to evaporate, and water vapour condenses to form clouds. At the second stage, labelled ‘precipitation’ on the diagram, water falls as rain or snow.

At the third stage in the cycle, rainwater may take various paths. Some of it may fall into lakes or return to the oceans via ‘surface runoff’. Otherwise, rainwater may filter through the ground, reaching the impervious layer of the earth. Salt water intrusion is shown to take place just before groundwater passes into the oceans to complete the cycle.

Source: ielts-simon.com/ielts-help-and-english-pr/2011/04/ielts-writing-task-1-water-cycle-essay.html

/rails/active_storage/representations/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaHBBbEVDIiwiZXhwIjpudWxsLCJwdXIiOiJibG9iX2lkIn19--4d3097aa076ff684e4e7d0eeccf55f649030c0c5/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaDdCam9MY21WemFYcGxTU0lOTVRFd01IZzJNakVHT2daRlZBPT0iLCJleHAiOm51bGwsInB1ciI6InZhcmlhdGlvbiJ9fQ==--03073c48c81b618581157c4a4bd8e0bb47be452b/IELTS_Writing_Sample_Task_1_Water_Cycle.gif

Outline

+What the picture is about

+What are the three main stages

+What we can see in the evaporation stage

+What happens in the precipitation stage

+How about the third stage

/rails/active_storage/representations/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaHBBbElDIiwiZXhwIjpudWxsLCJwdXIiOiJibG9iX2lkIn19--37ac8378089048d2211d5c6c7416e809a37764d0/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaDdCam9MY21WemFYcGxTU0lOTVRFd01IZzJNakVHT2daRlZBPT0iLCJleHAiOm51bGwsInB1ciI6InZhcmlhdGlvbiJ9fQ==--03073c48c81b618581157c4a4bd8e0bb47be452b/IELTS_Writing_Sample_Task_1_Water_Cycle.gif

Writing Tips:

How To Improve Writing Skills

What Is Required In IELTS Writing

Tips On IELTS Vocabulary For Writing

How Your IELTS Essays Are Graded

/rails/active_storage/representations/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaHBBbE1DIiwiZXhwIjpudWxsLCJwdXIiOiJibG9iX2lkIn19--ec7e0725b6103f2fb380ae451ce9f06c90188307/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaDdCam9MY21WemFYcGxTU0lOTVRFd01IZzJNakVHT2daRlZBPT0iLCJleHAiOm51bGwsInB1ciI6InZhcmlhdGlvbiJ9fQ==--03073c48c81b618581157c4a4bd8e0bb47be452b/IELTS_Writing_Sample_Task_1_Water_Cycle.gif"}]
