Do you send and receive email regularly?
Who do you usually communicate with?
How often do you check your email?
Do you think writing email has strengthened or weakened people’s writing skills?
What are some disadvantages of email?
Every day I receive a large amount of emails and I have to go through each and every email to make sure that I don't miss any important emails from my managers at work. Normally I use emails to communicate with my colleagues. And because of this, I have to check my mailbox frequently. I do think that writing emails has weakened people's writing skills significantly because when you write email, you seem to prefer to shorten every word so that it can be sent to the other person in a timely manner. And because of this reason, people don't pay much attention to the grammars they use in emails. Hence, people's writing skills are decreased significantly because of sending emails like this. There are many disadvantages of email. For example, you don't know if the other person has received and read your email yet. That's why I prefer to make phone calls and talk directly to any correspondents.
